Phantom of the Westwood theatre.

Y'know, for a day that started off kind of lousy, I'm in a very good mood. I was able to skip first block, and _sleep_ (thank goodness), having already finished reading the depressing novel assigned to us.

It rained.

Looked like we might get a thunderstorm tonight, too.
Rain seems to kick my muse into gear. Wrote a good three pages of Black Angel, plus I've got plans for more.

And rain just gets me in a good mood for other reasons, too.

In reference to the title, two or three of the stage lights in my high school's theatre seem to be haunted. They flicker on and off constantly, even when the entire lightboard is turned off. When our band was playing, they seemed to flash more or less to the music, both creepy and funky in itself.
A wiring flaw, perhaps? Someone who has waaaaaaaay too much time on their hands and is hiding in the light booth all day? Our band director with spastic telekinesis? A ghost with a very odd sense of rythm?

*shrug* Whatever. I think it's kind of cool, if a little annoying now and then.

And now, for the first time in a week, I get to sleep in my own bed. Darn. The couch is just too comfy.

..... ooooooh, look! Ripley's is on!

'May Rain' .... nah, doesn't have the same effect.

Thunder ..... and rain. Recipe for a perfect night of romantic relaxation. And power outages.

I happen to _love_ power outages.

I just need one thing to make the night a little more perfect .....

Ice cream! And James .....

One of the best shows on TV ....

Does anyone here besides me watch 'The West Wing'?

I thank my mom for introducing me to it. Frankly, I love it. I can't stand the American political system as I learn it in school (actually, I don't like much politics of any kind), but I can't get enough of this.
The mood can swing from sarcastic to stressful to educational to mind-blowing. I honestly hope that the writers are honored as high as they possibly can, because they add in real-life stats with scarily real situations and make it addictively entertaining.
There is no show I can think of where the dialogue is so dead-on. I am afraid to know how many hours of rehearsal the actors must go through to have everything flow so smoothly. If the number is smaller than 'a Hell of a lot', then I shake my head in awe at the talent of those actor and actresses.

I mean, who else can mix up a storyline containing Mad Cow Disease, Pearl Harbor, seatbelt laws, woman's lib, a Celtics game, and a modern American history report?

Good stuff.
