First post of 2008, and I come in rambles and in art. I mean, the one resolution I did make of official nature was to draw more, and I suppose the day got off to an honest and resolved start. I mean, I did these:

... okay, a lie. I did those in November. But I did spend a good chunk of the evening working on the friendly neighbourhood deity of terror and bastards. Honest I did. This is progress:

A smile not even his mother would trust.
I watched Children of Men with my parents tonight, over dinner and rum balls. I told them it was pretty much the only kind of war movie I could ever enjoy, or watch more than once. Dad asked, again, how far I got through Black Hawk Down. Told him, again, not far.
Jeff's in Vancouver, at a basketball tournament... or at least, he's on his way. The team took heavy losses due to first-term flunk-outs, and one of the best players not coming home from Toronto. I hope he does well.
Going back to the college to work tomorrow, then class starting Thursday. I'd be looking forward to it if I didn't feel so leery of taking Computer Sciences. I mean, all I know of HTML I learned from LJ tags. Seriously.
I have a review of Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem. The short version is six words long, so I'll stick to that.
THAT IS MORE FUCKING LIKE IT.
*ahem*
Okay, so a few more words. That movie had me hooked from the opening fade-in of credits. It was the way the entire idea was supposed to be handled, and had the rating to keep it consistent. I was impressed, I was entranced, and I was fully and completely confirmed in my instincts. Not saying that it was a perfect movie, but the Predator was competent and badass, the Xenomorphs were a proper infestation, and the Hybrid was a well-thought-out big bad that gave a rather interesting hint into Predator physiology and biology if you knew how to look. It was riddled with homages to both lines of movies, to the point of making me laugh with glee, and I was entertained in my geekery.
There. That's the middleweight version.
I'd give a heavyweight but I'm going to sleep now.
Good night 2007. Good morning, 2008.
