... because it produced a nice Alzy monologue and some doodles. And there was nice wine ... Fizdanel or Fitzpatrick or something. Pink stuff. I think I made Mom worry with how much of it I was drinking. *shrug* It made the evening pass much swifter, and I am satisfied.
Witness the wonders of doodles, the
true use of the paper napkin!
Barbed wire, bored Wulf, and nekkid Maji. And then, the dark monologue of Alzander, and his philosophy on Fate. (What is it with Alzy and monologues? This guy is a stage hog!)
You think you've got me all figured out, don't you? So, what's your verdict?
Shaped by a broken childhood? Incurable psychopath? Quiet little boy next door who discovered the sensation of one mind snapping?
*ch* ... you surprise me, kitten. For a soldier, I think you'd be less naiive.
It doesn't matter how I lived, how I began. Humans are born of the same flesh, no matter how that flesh is eventually broken.
Hero,
villian,
murderer,
martyr.
No matter the conception, the end result is the sum of all burdens on a mortal soul. A single breath tips the scales to a new position, and one is helpless to what position one is chained to.
I'm just the lucky bastard that ended up being me.
And you want to know me? You think that getting behind my eyes is the best think to do?
You think that it will make you safe?
Be careful when you stare into the darkness, kitten, lest the darkness begins to stare back.
Shall we dance?- Alzander Nikolai Raith (aka Ash)
I like that one. It creeped my brother out muchly to read over my shoulder as I scribbled it on the other side of my napkin. Mom dubbed it 'cool'. I can live with cool, I guess.
Speaking of cool, thank you to Guilen who reminded me of the release of the Two Towers soundtrack. I have yet to buy/see it (this being both Christmas season
and Fort McMurray), but I was able to track down a site with one of the songs playable for legal ears. Gollum's Song is very eerie, with very poetic lyrics. I'm going to write them down, post them if I can, as I give it another listen... (Note: there are probably mistakes in the lyrics, I didn't bother looking up the official version, I just typed them down as fast as my little fingers could after hearing the song once.)
Gollum's Song
performed by Emiliana Torrini
There once was light
Now darkness falls
There once was love
Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try
These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, The blame
And we will wait
To be so alone
We are lost
To never go home
So in the end
I'll be what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me
And we say goodbye
We say you didn't try
Therse tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lives
The hurt, the blame
And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost
You can never go home
You are lost
You can never go home
... nice. Very Gollum-y. Very dark and bitter. Like coffee. Yesssss, Gollum is like black coffee ...
