First of all, congratulations on getting your art into the show. That in itself is an achievement. Bugger what anyone else achieves. What YOU did is important. Comparing artistic skill can only go so far - as you said, artists each have different things to say, and you say it differently from other people. That does not make what you have to say any less important or less profound than anyone else's. If that's not what they're looking for, remember - it's not what EVERYONE else is looking for. One group of buggers don't appreciate what you do - there are many other people who do.
