I just remembered something. I watched the tail end of the Angel episode tonight, not understanding half of it because I haven't watched it for over a year. Beware of spoilers.
For the very last scene, Angel is standing over Wesley's hospital bed. From what I gathered, Wesley got his throat cut when he was trying to send Angel's son Connor into a different dimension in order to protect him from a prophecy that Angel would kill him. As it turned out, the prophecy was fake and twisted to the benefit of some nasty demon and Angel's son is lost for good. *exhale* I think.
Wesley's barely alive, and Angel's trying to say that he understands why he did what he did. As soon as he gets that out, he flips.
He grabs Wesley's pillow and tried to smother him to death, screaming and raging that he will never forgive him for what he's done, that he's responsible for loosing his son, that he'll kill him.
I've never seen an episode like that, whee Angel looses it. It reminds me of Black Angel. I mean, the hero of the story is a ghost, a soul, entrusted to save the world. Despite the fact the he's immortal, he's still human. He has passions, flaws, emotions, and grudges.
And another parallel about another character. She's nearly eight hundred years old, and she's still human. not human in the mortal sense, but human in the spiritual sense. Get it? All will become plain when the story is done. You'll see.
